It's all about the 'versary's!

Over the past few days we've had some celebrations. We celebrated mine and Jeff's five year date-aversary and our one year engagement-versary AND Brody's nine month life-aversary! Those are some pretty amazing versary's if ya ask me. Did I just make up a few words? You bet! Life has just been full of good things.
Toasting Jeff FINALLY popping the question

Memorial Day weekend has been our special weekend for the past five years. It was when I first spent time with Jeff's family at their cabin. It was when Jeff first asked me to be his girlfriend over a candle-lit dinner. And it was when he finally got down on one knee and proposed to me! He even brought a bottle of sparkling cider to mark the occasion (Brody was roasting in my stomach so no booze for me).  This year we celebrated it by spending an afternoon with my family and a cozy evenning at home with a surprise bouquet of alley flowers. Yes, alley flowers. It may not sound romantic, but the fact that he remembered was enough. A vase full of delicious smelling lilacs, bright orange poppies, and white hydrangea.
Tuesday we celebrated Brody turning nine months old. NINE MONTHS! Yikes. He is a crawling machine. He follows us everywhere in the house and gets into everything. He is a master at picking up
everything and sticking it in his mouth except for his food. He is a daredevil and gives me a near heart attack at every turn. It's so fun watching him learn all of these new things and explore. He especially likes being outside. He wasn't to sure of the grass at first but now I can't keep him on the blanket. I love that he is growing and is so strong and healthy. But I can't lie, I do miss my little cuddly, immobile baby boy. But this nine month old Brody, he's pretty amazing too. He loves his mommy and daddy and we couldn't be more crazy about him. I can't believe in a few short months he'll be a year old. Until then, I am going to savor these moments of ONLY crawling. I am sure once he's walking it will be a whole new ball field. We love you Brody Man!
