Brody
Tomorrow you will be 10 months old! I will probably never stop saying this: time is flying by! I just can't believe it. There are times when it feels like just yesterday you were rolling around in my tummy. You are amazing, son. Your personality is showing more and more. You are always happy. It's infectious. It's very rare to not see a smile on your face.
You are also stubborn. I am not sure where you get that from. Probably a little of both your dad and I. Everyone calls you a momma's boy but what they don't see is your face when Daddy comes home. You only have eyes for him! You are fearless, an adventurer. You definitely get that from your dad. You crawl everywhere and you are speedy! You try to pull yourself up on anything and you are almost always successful. Not only in pulling yourself up but giving me a near heart attack! You are trying to learn to stand on your own. You've done it a few times. Starting with getting on one knee and then using all your might to push yourself up to your feet. And you do it, if only for a few seconds. Then you plop back down on your bottom. It never sways you from trying again and again. You have fierce determination, sweetie.

Now that it's summer we are outside all the time which you love. It took you awhile to venture into the grass, but once you got use to the prickly green stuff you took off. You usually always go for the rocks, which in turn go straight to your mouth. Speaking of your mouth, not only do you have your bottom two teeth, you have your top two teeth! They came in fast.
Slow down baby! Back to being outside...we bought you a mini swimming pool a few weeks ago. I'm not sure it's love yet, but you aren't afraid to get in and splash to your hearts content.
We've even tried camping this summer. I think you liked it; a lot of dirt and new things to put in your mouth. I couldn't keep you from taking off after daddy into the woods so we compromised and put you in the backpack so you could safely tag along with him. We didn't end up staying the night but that's not going to stop us from trying again. I hope you end up loving camping as much as I do. Some of my best childhood memories were camping.
Brody, you make my heart swell to bursting. You hug and snuggle and it's the best feeling in the world. Your appetite for life and your wonderment at all things is contagious. Your constant smiles touch everyone who meets you. You bring such a refreshing joy to my days! Even through tears from teething, tummy aches and those cranky days, they seem insignificant compared to your effervescence.
I am in awe of you, my love. When I think I can't love you enough, I find another well of depthless emotion to tap into. Brody, I hope I never hamper you from being you. I pray that God gives me the wisdom to guide you, to encourage you. The patience to listen when you only need someone to hear you, sound advice when you are seeking an answer, and always, always love when your heart needs filling.
all my love
mommy
