and God is faithful

Satan knows our schedules, our needs, our predicaments.  He knows when we've been up too many nights in a row and our tempers are on edge. He knows when we are lonely. He knows the details of our marriage. He wars with us over our desires and then, when we make a decision to leave him behind he dons new clothes and stays right with us. Surprised we practically trip over him in the process of getting to God. We need to be prepared to face temptation.

That is what I read this morning in my devotional. Wow. It was kind of a punch to the gut. Temptation…it's so convenient to us. It is everywhere we turn. It's so easy to forget that it's an attack on us. It takes strength and focus to resist. It's kind of scary. I mean, didn't I just say in my last post that Satan preys on our weaknesses? Weaknesses that he knows all to well. I can't just take this for granted that last night, when I was feeling completely low, knowing very well why... and then today to read first thing about how well satan knows us?!? Hey God, I'm listening.  I'm going to meditate on You. I'm going to seek my strength from You.

…And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.         1 Corinthians 10:13
