Sunday catch up

I feel like it's been forever since I last posted but really it's been like what, a week? It's weird how one minute life can seem so crazy busy and the next you feel like you have a ton of free time and aren't exactly sure how to fill it.

Today for example,  I have managed to finished a photo album on shutterfly. That is part of my 6 month goal. I am giving myself 6 months to do albums I had planned on doing years ago. That includes Brody's first year album which I have been stuck at 4 months on. I feel like if I don't give myself a deadline for these I will never get it done. I have to say, sometimes I feel like the curse of digital is never taking the time to print photos. It makes me sad because one of my favorite things to do when I go to my parents is pull out the old photo albums. I really need to step it up here.

Jeff and I have decided it is time for us to take our journey to a new home. That means we have been busy preparing our house to be put on the market. Unfortunately that does include some painting, which neither of us love.  It also means a lot of conversations about what we want in our next home and where. We both would ideally love to buy some property and build...you could call that our long term goal. Realistically right now our best option is to buy a "10 year" home which means there are things we are both going to have to "give up" as far as what we would like our home to have. The good thing is we love our home we are in now, so it's not like we are in a huge hurry to sell it and find something new. Really I think if we could pick up this house and put it somewhere else, preferably a few acres of land, we would. And maybe include a bathroom and kitchen remodel…ok and maybe a master bedroom remodel…alright we mine as well just build a new one! Really though so much as happened in our home it will be sad to say goodbye.

Brody ALWAYS keeps me busy. I mean this kid has never ending energy. And his favorite game is "lets test mommy".

(I wrote the top half a few days ago, got distracted…)

You guys, you'll have to indulge with me here for a few…I need to brag about my boy:

Brody figured out how to crawl from the glider chair into his crib. He tops it off by doing a somersault from the edge of the crib right into it! But of course, figuring out how to get into his crib on his own isn't enough, he has to get out too! No problem, he just hoists a leg over the edge and pulls himself up and over. Fearless I tell you. I debated on stopping him when I first saw him attempt this acrobatic feat but no, I thought better to see if he actually could do it than to stop him just to have him try again when I wasn't watching. The good news is this is only a play time thing so far. He hasn't put two and two together and figured out he can escape from bed time!

Yesterday we were playing with Mr. Bear…well I dubbed him Mr. Bear, Jeff thinks his name should be Teddy. Basically to me any stuffed animal is Mr.: Mr. Fox, Mr. Bear, Mr. Raccoon, yeah I'm not super creative there. Anyways, I had Brody's little orange duster so I pretend scrubbed Mr. Bear and told Brody we were giving him a bath. As soon as the words are out of my mouth Brody comes over, grabs hold of the bear and high tails it for the bathroom. I assumed he was just going to put the bear into the tub, but followed just in case. I saved Mr. bear from a near toilet bath! I walked in on Brody holding him precariously close over the open toilet bowl. I suppose that would be some form of bathing? Right?

Today my sweet little boy, bless his loving heart, took responsibility of keeping mommy hydrated. I have been very inactive. It's the snows fault. And the Olympics. So I whipped out a home workout DVD and thought I'd attempt a workout. I'm not going to lie, it was a bit tiring. The instructor, all upbeat and cheery, never losing her breath told us to take a seat for some thigh work. I happily followed the sit command. Brody had been watching the whole time, squeezed into one of the cubbies he dragged out of his room. No sooner had I sat down, my little man wiggled out, and came over holding the water bottle up to my mouth for a drink. I melted! He took a drink too, for support I'm sure. He must have thought I wasn't working out hard enough because as I was getting into push up position he thought he should hop on my back. Yeah right son, no problem. Push ups turned into a horsey ride. Workout over. Happy heart exploding!
