OK, this is over a week old now, I had every intention of getting it out sooner, but I took a break to look through pictures I wanted to use and well ya know… life happens.
Brody was parked next to me sitting on his scoot today and started to take off. I waved to him and said "bye bye" and he waved back. Then I blew him a kiss and said "can you blow kisses" But merely blowing kisses wasn't good enough for my little man. He turned his scoot around, pushed it right in front of me and leaned over for a real peck on the lips. It was one of those parenting moments that make all the bad, overwhelming stressful days totally worth it. Yep. One kiss, one show of love, makes it all so much better.

| OK OK this is NOT from the infamous kiss day, BUT he puckered those lips for me when I asked so I had to share! |
We spent our whole weekend pretty much outside. Which I love. The hubs FINALLY got the sandbox built. It is wonderful. And part of it being so wonderful was how much Brody got to be a part of it. Anything he saw daddy doing he did. Riding in machines? Brody was right there on Dad's lap. Dad shoveling dirt? Brody wasted no time locating his mini-shovel and diving in right next to dad. Climbing down in the over sized hole meant for above mentioned sandbox? Sure enough, Brody was down in the hole too. Big grin as he worked next to the guys. Spreading sand? Brody was there. Every step of the way Daddy made sure to include Brody. I loved it. It was a great experience we all got to share in together. And YES! I took way too many pictures, but can you blame me? I've got handsome, hardworking men in my life!
Part of me dreads the oncoming invasion of non-stop sand on clothes, in shoes, in the house. But the other part of me loves the joy in his face when he's in that sandbox. The total concentration as he loads trucks and transports sand loads. The surprise on his face when we fill a bucket with sand and flip it over to build sand castles. Yeah, he was pretty impressed with mom's skills. And you bet I was in the sand box with him. Admittedly part of me was mentally transporting myself to a beach, but hey, everyone is happy.

Just to clarify (and in case the husband reads this) this IS NOT the finished product. I was going to wait until it's completion before posting BUT… it could be awhile. Jeff is in the process of building a lid for the sandbox so Neighbors cat doesn't make it his giant litter box. Seriously though, I had my doubts, I am sure you did to when you saw the GIANT hole. Swimming pool anyone? But it turned out just perfect and we have been in it every day since. No joke. I am pretty sure Jeff and I have just as much fun when we get in it too. This is definitely where we will be spending a big part of our summer and I am so grateful for my husband who took the time to build such a great sandbox for our little man!
Brody is so blessed with awesome loving parents! Not to mention how talented you both are also!!
