Mrs. Hudiburgh Part 2

My wedding day...it's weird to even say that. I've had a wedding day! Come and gone. I remember worrying how everything would come together. Would my colors all compliment each other? Would the flowers I chose for the bouquet look good next to my dress? Did I make a mistake using succulents in my center pieces? Succulents, which by the way, we spent the whole summer nurturing, and saving from multiple thunderstorms! My worries were pointless. All of my jumbled ideas worked out wonderfully. It came together to create the perfect ambiance in our reception hall. And the best part, people got to take the succulents home, and they did! Not a one left behind.

Another thing that I was adamant about having as decorations was our parents and grandparents wedding pictures. Not only to recognize that both of our parents haven been married over  years but to have a a reminder of the family members that are no longer with us to celebrate. I wanted a vintage feel to it and it's exactly what I got.  It was a perfect touch of memories!

I wish I would've taken more time to just take in the reception. I mean really SEE all of our hard work. Months of planning and discussion went into it. I mean, I looked, but I just didn't give myself the time to really absorb the magnificence of it. In many situations, be it birthday parties, dinner parties and other events, you always picture in your mind how you want it to be and usually the real thing always leaves something to be desired. But not this. Not my wedding day. It was even better than I had imagined.

....more to come
