I kind of left things hanging on my last blog. Christmas Eve. Another late night, but we couldn't wait until morning. That's a half truth. I couldn't wait until morning. Jeff would've slept in until 10 had I let him. But no, I was the first one up, itching to wake Brody up. Let me tell you, waking him up was no easy task. He fought it every step of the way. But it was so worth it.
He was so excited about his new scoot! I mean, look at that face! He loved it. It was a priceless moment. We probably could have got him that present alone and he would have been thrilled.

Christmas Day was much like Christmas Eve day. We had schedules to follow. Jeff wasn't to thrilled when I found out I was an hour behind on my families schedule. It meant a mad rush through breakfast, showers and packing. We were 30 minute late, but if you haven't picked up on it by now, that's sort of the norm for us. I'm not saying that proudly.
Once at Gram and Grandad's house we ate another breakfast, and listened to the story of Christ's birth. It's a tradition we've kept for as long as I can remember, and I look forward to it every year. I don't think I ever tire of hearing it. The kids were itching to open presents, but got distracted for awhile with the marble toy thingy….not sure what you call it. But here's what's great about it: my brothers and I played with it when we were kids. I love seeing toys passed down from generations. Such a simple thing and they were so fascinated.
From my grandparents house we drove up to my parents house for yet another round of opening presents. While all of the other kids sat in the living room itching to open presents, Brody wouldn't sit still. He was everywhere and could not be contained. We were near giving up when my mom opened her present. It was the miracle we needed. Brody instantly wanted to climb on top of her box, and there he sat until we were done opening presents.
He even opened his own presents while sitting atop the box. Needless to say we all got a kick out of it, even his cousins! The rest of our day was filled with family and food and a much needed nap. No not the kids, ME! I napped. I was the only one who took a nap the whole day. Well, Samuel too but he's the exception.
Now there isn't' a trace of Christmas in our house. We took down everything the day after, which is kind of how I like it. We went through all of Brody's old toys to make room for the new and have started on our end of the year purge. Two closets down, a whole basement to go! Wish us luck.
